People’s Opinion on public Commodities Administration of Nong Chom Sub-district Municipality, San Sai District, Chiang Mai Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to 1) study people’s opinion on the management of public utility services of Nong Chom Sub-district Municipality, 2) to compare level of people’s opinion on the management of public utility services of Nong Chom Sub-district Municipality, who differed in sex, age, level of education, and occupation, and 3) to study suggestions on the problems and solutions to the management of public utility services. The study sampling units were the people aged 18 and above who received the public utility services of Nong Chom Sub-district Municipality in A.D. 2013, totally 372. Tools for data collection were the questionnaires; statistics for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test and F-test.

            The findings were as follows: 1) The people’s opinion on the management of public utility services of Nong Chom Sub-district Municipality in all five aspects was rated at a high level. 2) The hypothesis test showed that the people who differed in sex, level of education, and occupation did not differ in opinion on the management of public utility services. 3) Problems and Solutions 3.1 The problems from the respondents were that the streets inside the Nong Chom Sub-district municipal area were small and narrow; they were inconvenient for the traffic, and risk to cause dangers to those who used the traffic. 3.2) The solutions were that the Nong Chom Sub-district Municipality should enlarge the street and its shoulder in order to facilitate those who used vehicles as well as the commuters.
