The Development of Pronunciation Achievement by Using Reading Skill, Distribution of Spelling Words of Prathomsuksa 1 Students

Abstract

This research was aimed to study the development of pronunciation achievement by using reading skill, distribution of spelling words of prathomsuksa 1 students. The objectives were; 1) to find the achievement of arrangement of reading and learning activities using reading skills according to the benchmark 80/80, and 2) to compare learning achievement before and after learning of prathomsuksa 1 students. The population of research was prathomsuksa 1 students in academic year 2018 of Sapantheesam School, Aranyik Sub-district, Mueang District, Pitsanulok Province in the Office of Phitsanulok Primary Educational Service Area 1. The samples used in this research were 31 students of prathomsuksa 1/2 in academic year 2018 by means of specific selection. The tools used in the research were 1)10 learning management plans of pronunciation achievement by reading skill and distribution of spelling words of prathomsuksa 1 students and 2) 20 items of Thai spelling words test before and after learning with quality examination and consistency index (IOC). The basic statistics used in the research were mean ( ) Arithmetic Mean) and standard deviation (S.D.). The data were analyzed by using statistics to find the different achievement scores between pre-test and post-test of the sample group with t-test formula based on the Dependent calculation as a ready-made program.

 The results of research found that:

1. 1. Arrangement of learning activities of pronunciation by using reading skill, distribution of spelling words of prathomsuksa 1 students was in efficiency of 06 / 89.84 which was more effective than the criteria set out before at 80/80.
2. Results of comparison showed that achievement score of post-test was higher than that of pre-test which had statistical significance at 0.5.
