AN APPLICATION OF GOOD GOVERNANCE IN SANGKHA ADMINISTRATION OF ADMINISTRATIVE MONKS IN NAKHON SI THAMMARAT PROVINCE (DHAMMAYUT

Abstract

The objectives of this thesis were as follows : 1) To study an application of good governance in sangkha administration of administrative monks in Nakhon Si Thammarat province (Dhammayut). 2) To compare application of good governance in sangkha administration of administrative monks in Nakhon Si Thammarat province (Dhammayut) in terms of ages, periods of monkhood, degrees of formal education and degrees of Dhamma study, as differently. 3) To study the guideline for application of good governance in sangkha administration of administrative monks in Nakhon Si Thammarat province (Dhammayut). This is the mixed methodology research which composed of quantitative research by questionnaire. The population were composed of Dhammayuttikanikaya monks in Nakhon Si Thammarat province totally 415 persons, sample size according to the table of R.V. Krejcie and D.W.Morgan, got the sample at the number of 201 persons, and qualitative research by in-depth interview from seven informants, The statistics were analyzed as follows, frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t–test, and F-test. And qualitative research analyzed by descriptive surrounding.

The results reveal that :

1. An application of good governance in sangkha administration of administrative monks in Nakhon Si Thammarat province (Dhammayut) by overviews in three aspects are at high level, while consider in each aspects find that the aspect of valuable is the highest mean and follow up the aspect of responsibility and the aspect of participation is the lowest mean.
2. The comparative result of application of good governance in sangkha administration of administrative monks in Nakhon Si Thammarat province (Dhammayut) in terms of ages find that there are different as statistically significance at .01, in terms of periods of monkhood find that there are different as statistically significance at .05, and in terms of find that degrees of Dhamma study, degrees of formal education reveal that there are not different as statistically significance at .05.
3. The suggestion on problem and resolution for application of good governance in sangkha administration of administrative monks in Nakhon Si Thammarat province (Dhammayut) reveal that 1) Virtue; they must regard on righteousness, self sacrifice, mercy, compassion, kindness and focus on group interest. 2) Lawful; regard on Dhamma Vinaya, sangha order, rule, commanding and civil law 3) Transparency; opening document without hiding, to promote on account and deposit focus on group interest. 4) participation; to provide all work to others as coverage focus on put the right man on the right job and to have a public opinion for development. 5) Responsibility; to understand the specific work under responsible and can be improve or resolve immediately. 6) Valuable; to provide the resources in valuable, save and plan to use them.
