PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING MANAGEMENT TO ENHANCE THE CREATIVE THINKING SKILLS

Abstract

          This article aimed to present a problem-based learning management model. Problem-based learning (PBL), one of learning management models that can be used to improve the quality of learning in thinking skills. Enabling students to develop skills in analytical thinking, problem solving, and creative thinking skills that meets the needs of today's learning, focuses on giving learners in-depth learning as well. In addition, learners will be organized their learning in group with brainstorming activities, cultivated participated learning and getting more hands-on learning. These provide opportunities for learners to seek knowledge on their own both inside and outside the school including learning resources.  The model is conducive to learners' learning and jointly create works. It delivered a result and innovation from the learning to learners. In the part of the teacher, the role of being a supervisor in the classroom was reduced. Learners have the power to manage and control themselves. Student are able to acquire new knowledge as desired, and be able to work in groups. As a result, students come up with new ideas, flexibility and have the panorama-viewed and broaden idea than thinking alone and limited. The problem-based learning management model also helps to develop and encourage students to develop creative thinking skills.
