A STUDY OF BUDDHADHAMMA AS FOUND IN THE RITUAL OF SPIRIT DANCE IN LANNA

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the concept of ghosts in Buddhist scriptures 2) to study the Meng ghost dance ritual in Lanna 3) to analyze the Buddhist principles that appear in the Meng ghost dance ritual in Lanna is a qualitative research study from primary grade documents Secondary and in-depth interviews From a group of 15 people who provided important information.

The results of this research found that: The concept of ghosts in the Buddhist scriptures refers to non-human beings, demons, sambhavesi, demons, oppatikas, spirits, demons, and when they die, they will have karma to determine and follow. to be used as a method of dissemination in the context of traditional human cultural beliefs in that society very well As for the spirit dance rituals in Lanna, it has been passed down from ancestors who have been trained and taught. and pass on this ritual to the next generation on the basis of religious beliefs and power over the sacred powers that are believed to exist As for the principle of Buddhism that appears in the spirit dance rituals, Meng is the aspect of filial piety. unity and the aspect of giving which also has a great influence on religion, society, culture and economy in forging the ethnicity of people to be unified and also the center of mental reliance along with the further strengthening and preserving the rules and traditions of the society.
