THE DEVELOPMENT OF A HOLISTIC EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION MANAGEMENT MODEL FOR CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER, PHUNPHIN DISTRICT, SURATTHANI PROVINCE

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the state of the early childhood education management model using a holistic approach 2) to develop the early childhood education management model using a holistic approach 3) to determine the suitability and feasibility of the early childhood education management model using a holistic approach for child development centers in Phunphin District, Surat Thani Province. The research procedure consisted of three steps. Step 1 was used to study the state of early childhood education management using a holistic approach from the population of 71 child development center personnel in Phunphin District selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected by a questionnaire with a reliability of 0.99 and were analyzed by mean and standard deviation. Step 2 was used to develop the early childhood education management model using a holistic approach, which model was examined by five experts. Step 3 was used to determine the suitability and feasibility of the early childhood education management model using a holistic approach with the population taken from Step 1. Data were collected by a suitability and feasibility form with a reliability of 0.95 and were analyzed by mean and standard deviation.

The results of this research found that:

1. The state of the early childhood education management using a holistic approach was at a high level in overall and each aspect ranked in descending order: organization of learning experiences, promotion of personnel development, curriculum management, and creation of a cooperative network in education management.
2. The early childhood education management model using a holistic approach comprised four components: 1) principle 2) objective 3) process of educational management 4) success condition.
3. The determination of the early childhood education management model using a holistic approach showed that overall the suitability and feasibility of the model were at the highest level.
