ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL LEARNING MANAGEMENT TO HUMAN DEVELOPMENT IN AN EXTRA-LARGE SCHOOL PHITSANULOK

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to examine the current conditions related to the teaching of energy and environmental concepts within the subjects of Social Studies, Religion, and Culture in extra-large secondary schools located in Phitsanulok Province 2) to formulate guidelines for designing learning activities centered around energy and environmental topics with the aim of fostering active citizenship. This research adopted a qualitative approach. The primary participant group consisted of 11^th grade students enrolled in the energy and environment course at Janokrong School in Phitsanulok Province, along with 5 teachers meeting specific qualification criteria and a cohort of experienced individuals engaged in teaching and learning administration within the school. The research employed various tools such as in-depth interviews, participant observation, and the implementation of learning activities focused on the theme of "How to leave behind and not forget each other.

The results of this research found that:

1. Examination of the prevailing conditions concerning the instruction of energy and environmental subjects within the context of Social Studies, Religion, and Culture in extra-large secondary schools within Phitsanulok Province revealed shared perspectives among both student groups and those with teaching and learning management experience. A common observation was that the predominant teaching method relied heavily on lecture-based approaches, presenting challenges in the teaching process.
2. Formulation of guidelines for structuring learning activities related to energy and environmental themes to cultivate active citizenship. The researcher successfully synthesized the identified issues into three key components: the learner's aspect encompassing knowledge acquisition related to energy and the environment, the teacher's aspect involving subject integration, and the aspect of media and learning resources entailing the utilization of diverse teaching aids.
