Development of Management Information System (Mis) to Increase Operational Efficiency of the Lanna Campus Office Mahamakut Buddhist University Chiang Mai Province

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study the Management Information Systems (MIS) of administration and guidelines for developing Management Information Systems (MIS) to increase the operational efficiency of the Lanna campus. The tools used in this study were questionnaires and in-depth interviews. The samples were a group of experts and stakeholders. Data collection and quantitative data analysis were performed using a computer program. The qualitative data were analyzed by content analysis.

The Research found that

The results of the study were as follows 1) The management information system (MIS) condition in general was at a moderate level. When considering the classification by aspect in descending order of average was data storage and information, followed by data and information presentation, data validation, collecting information, and data processing, respectively. 2) The guidelines for the development of management information system (MIS) were (1) for planning aspect, there should be an information technology infrastructure and a group of information systems that an organization needs to operate at various levels. (2) for analysis aspect, it should operate according to user needs and suitability to the financial status of the organization and prepare documentation for each step of the system analysis in detail and keep it up-to-date. (3) for design aspect, the information system should be designed to be used to solve problems or meet the needs of users by specifying the details of the various components of the system by giving importance to the database design. (4) for using aspect, a system should have been developed that allows users to bring information obtained to set goals, strategies, and action plans in their work and can use the information obtained for auditing and evaluating performance. and (5) for maintenance aspect, try to maintain the condition of the equipment to always be in good working condition by preparing a maintenance plan for the information database system and maintaining the management information system.
