This research article aimed to: 1) Study the current situation, the current conditions of the operation of early intervention service for children with special needs. 2) Study needs for the operation of early intervention service for children with special needs. This research is a quantitative research. The sample group used in this research included 328 people. The research instrument was a 5-level rating scale questionnaire. The statistics used in data analysis comprised frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Priority needs index.
The research found that:
- The current situation of the operation of early intervention service for children with special needs, in overall, was rated at a moderate level, when considering each aspect, it was found that the aspect with the highest practice was the aspect of basic ability assessment, the desirable conditions for the operation of early intervention service for children with special needs, in overall, were rated at the highest level, when considering each aspect, it was found that it was rated at the highest level in every aspect, the aspect with the highest level of the desirable conditions was the aspect of collecting information.
2. The average of needs for early intervention service for children with special needs, arranged in order of importance, were as follows: 1) General data collection, 2) Student screening according to type of educational disability, 3) Supervision, monitoring, evaluation and referral, 4) Preparation of individualized family service plan (IFSEP), 5) Progress assessment, 6) Appropriate activity service, 7) Basic ability assessment.
