Buddhist Organic Rice: Identity, Belief and Organic Rice Cultivation of Hug Nam Chang Group, Meatha District, Lampang Province

This research article aimed to: 1) analyze the ontological beliefs and sociocultural identity associated with organic rice cultivation within Thai cultural paradigms; 2) investigate the Buddhist-integrated organic rice cultivation methodologies implemented by the Hug Nam Jang agricultural collective in Mae Tha District, Lampang Province; 3) formulate recommendations for enhancing the sociocultural identity, ontological beliefs, and agroecological practices of Buddhist-integrated organic rice cultivation among the Hug Nam Jang agricultural collective. This qualitative inquiry employed triangulated methodological approaches, including documentary analysis, semi-structured in-depth interviews, and ethnographic field observations. The purposively selected key informants comprised 19 participants.
