The Existence of the Grandfather Ghost, Ban Non Tun, Muang Kao Subdistrict, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the concept and theory of ancestors' spirits; 2) to study the ghosts of their ancestors at Ban Non Tun, Muang Kao Sub-district, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province; 3) to study the existence of ancestors' spirits at Ban Non Tun, Muang Kao Sub-district, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province. This research is a qualitative research. The research tool was an in-depth interview and behavioral observation. The key informants were ritual practitioners, villagers, and people asking for blessings. Data were analyzed by descriptive methods.
The results showed that:
1. The Concept of ancestors' spirits is an idea that has existed since the early days of the Lan Xang kingdom is a belief about ghosts or spirits that protect the country, keep people, pets to be peaceful happy and safe as well as taking care of crops to have abundance And the villagers still believe that the spirit of grandfather and grandfather can eliminate various dangers.
2. The condition of existence of the Grandfather's spirit is the existence and existence of the spirit that resides in Don Grandfather's Ban Non Tun. in which the community respects and treats the spirits of their grandfathers with worship making sacrifices has become a tradition that must be done every year. Which is held in May of every year.
3. Existence of Grandfather's Spirit is the state of existence of Grandfather's spirit, which is the spirit of ancestors. The spirits of the deceased ancestors still have a love relationship with their children. Still taking care and protection for children in their own communities. The spirits exist in three positions: 1) exist in the state of spirit 2) exist as a spirit is the spirit of grandfather as it can give you and blame for humans, pets, plants, etc. 3) exists as an omniscient is the ghost of Grandfather according to the intellect or mind to perceive.
