Developing a preparatory model for teacher professional practice to enhance the teaching competencies of student teachers at Rajabhat Rajanagarindra University

This research aimed to 1) develop a teacher professional practice preparation model to enhance the teaching competencies of pre-service teachers, and 2) study the teaching competencies of pre-service teachers after learning activities using the teacher professional practice preparation model. The research employed a research and development methodology. The research instruments included a teacher professional practice preparation model manual and a teaching competency assessment form for pre-service teachers. Statistical analyses included mean (), standard deviation (S.D.), and content analysis.
The research findings revealed that:
1) The developed teacher professional practice preparation model, designed to enhance the teaching competencies of pre-service teachers at Rajabhat Rajanagarindra University, comprised of principles, objectives, learning activity duration, learning process, and assessment, achieved the highest level of evaluation with a mean score between 4.50 - 5.00.
2) The study examined the teaching competencies of pre-service teachers after learning activities using the teacher professional practice preparation model. The overall results of the teaching competency development of pre-teacher trainees were at a good level ( = 4.22). The teaching competency with the highest evaluation score was Competency 1, Lesson Plan Development, which was at a very good level ( = 4.51). This was followed by Competency 2, Teaching Management, which was at a good level ( = 4.35), and Competency 3, Evaluation of Teaching Results, which was at a good level ( = 3.78), respectively.
