This academic article aims to synthesize knowledge on educational leadership in the digital era by examining the evolution of leadership concepts, the key components of educational leadership in the digital age, and the integration of Buddhist principles into educational administration. The study is based on a comprehensive review and synthesis of books, academic texts, scholarly articles, research studies, and related documents in both Thai and English.
The synthesis indicates that educational leadership in the digital era extends beyond the ability to utilize digital technologies. It encompasses strategic vision, data-informed decision-making, human capital development, innovation management, and organizational governance while responding effectively to the rapid changes of the digital society. Furthermore, the integration of the Four Sublime States of Mind (Brahmavihāra), the Four Bases of Success (Iddhipāda), the Seven Qualities of a Good Person (Sappurisadhamma), and Wise Reflection (Yonisomanasikāra) strengthens educational leadership by balancing digital competencies with ethical leadership. Such integration enhances organizational effectiveness, transparency, accountability, and educational quality while promoting the well-being of learners, teachers, and society.
The knowledge synthesized in this article proposes an integrated framework for developing educational leadership in the digital era through the combination of contemporary educational leadership theories and Buddhist principles. This framework emphasizes the development of school administrators who possess both digital competencies and ethical values, enabling them to lead educational institutions effectively and sustainably. The proposed framework can serve as a guideline for leadership development programs, educational policy formulation, and future studies in Buddhist educational administration.
