Guidelines for public library services development to promote non-formal and informal education in the New Normal

The objective of the research is to study the guidelines for public library services development to promote non-formal and informal education in the New Normal. The samples were 400 users of public libraries of the Office of Non-education and Informal Education, selected through the purposive sampling technique. In addition, the research was conducted to analyze the interview questions by 30 staffs including teachers, directors and librarians. The research findings were summarized as follows: the public libraries provide material of COVID-19 to library users including COVID-19 healthcare (74.00%), pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) (66.25%), living in the age of COVID-19 (59.75%), and prevention of COVID-19 at home, workplaces or education institutions (53.25%) respectively. The demand of library users demand towards public library services development to promote non-formal and informal education in the New Normal overall and each parts at higher level including the building and venue of public library (=4.10), public relation and communication (=4.09), information resources (=4.00), and information services (=3.98) respectively. In comparing demand of library users towards public library services development to promote non-formal and informal education in the New Normal overall and each part, the result differ significantly at 0.05 level among teachers who belongs to different age groups, education backgrounds and library members. There is no significant difference between library users with respective to genders.
