การจัดการพื้นที่ห้องสมุดอุดมศึกษาและความต้องการของผู้ใช้บริการ: มุมมองจาก The Four-Space model

บทคัดย่อ

การวิจัยนี้เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาสภาพการจัดการพื้นที่ห้องสมุดและความต้องการของผู้ใช้บริการในห้องสมุดสถาบันอุดมศึกษาในกำกับรัฐ เขตกรุงเทพมหานครและปริมณฑล จำนวน 11 แห่ง เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลกับผู้ให้ข้อมูลหลัก 2 กลุ่ม ได้แก่ 1) บุคลากรห้องสมุด จำนวน 11 คน ใช้วิธีการเลือกแบบเจาะจง และ 2) ผู้ใช้บริการ จำนวน 43 โดยใช้วิธีสุ่มตามสะดวก เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบสัมภาษณ์โดยมีแนวคำถามเกี่ยวกับสภาพการจัดการพื้นที่ห้องสมุด พฤติกรรมและประสบการณ์การใช้บริการห้องสมุด รวมถึงความต้องการพื้นที่ห้องสมุดในมุมมองผู้ใช้บริการ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยวิธีการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา ตรวจสอบเครื่องมือวิจัยโดยผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิเพื่อเพิ่มความน่าเชื่อถือของเครื่องมือวิจัย และตรวจสอบความน่าเชื่อถือของข้อมูลใช้การตรวจสอบแบบสามเส้าด้านแหล่งข้อมูล ผลการศึกษาในประเด็นสภาพการจัดการพื้นที่ของห้องสมุดสถาบันอุดมศึกษา พบว่า มีการดำเนินงานอย่างเป็นระบบและมีทิศทางชัดเจนในการปรับบทบาทของห้องสมุดจากแหล่งเก็บทรัพยากรไปสู่การเป็นพื้นที่แห่งการเรียนรู้โดยมีการจัดสรรพื้นที่หลากหลายรูปแบบเพื่อตอบสนองความต้องการที่ซับซ้อนของผู้ใช้บริการ พร้อมทั้งได้รับการสนับสนุนเชิงนโยบายจากผู้บริหารที่มุ่งเน้นการพัฒนาพื้นที่ให้สอดคล้องกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงด้านการเรียนรู้และการใช้บริการ ส่วนพฤติกรรมและความต้องการของผู้ใช้บริการสะท้อนให้เห็นว่าผู้ใช้เข้ามาใช้พื้นที่ทางกายภาพของห้องสมุดเป็นหลักและคาดหวังให้ห้องสมุดทำหน้าที่มากกว่าพื้นที่อ่านหนังสือ โดยต้องการพื้นที่สร้างแรงบันดาลใจสนับสนุนความคิดสร้างสรรค์ พื้นที่เรียนรู้ที่รองรับการเรียนรู้ที่หลากหลายทั้งแบบเป็นทางการ ไม่เป็นทางการ และการเรียนรู้ด้วยตนเอง พื้นที่พบปะเพื่อการแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้และมีปฏิสัมพันธ์ทางสังคม และพื้นที่แสดงผลงาน ตลอดจนความพร้อมด้านโครงสร้างพื้นฐานและบรรยากาศที่เอื้อต่อการเรียนรู้ในบริบทการเรียนรู้ยุคใหม่
