Managing right management information in libraries and archives: rationales and case studies
One of the major issues in Copyright Act (No. 2) B.E.2558 (2015) that affects operations in libraries, archives, and other information centers is the introduction of right management information (RMI). Article 53/3 of the Act addresses libraries and archives as one of public communities that are given exceptions. Ministry of Commerce issued inisterial regulations describing characteristics of RMI and copyrighted works that are included in the exceptions. This article provides rationales and related cases exemplifying the necessity for libraries and archives to obtain exceptions for RMI modifications.
