Recalling the Old Textbooks

Abstract

Rare Book Collection of Chulalongkorn University, located on the sixth floor of Office of Academic Resources, is the intellectual source of storage, service, and conservation of books in the old times which are valuable for Chulalongkorn University and the nation. Among the Rare Book Collection, there are a number of traditional Thai textbooks. Having not neglected through times, all are under a good care and in good condition. They are also continuously utilized as original documents for research and study as well as accessed in a form of electronic rare books on Chulalinet database. The old textbooks remain interesting and worth reading.They remind people at a certain age of learning in childhood years, beautiful and memorable recitations of Thai language, and common knowledge of nature. This is the charm of textbooks in the old days.
