This study aims to explore the current status of records management of the Central Filing System for Archives and Library Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A qualitative research approach, involving interviews and document analysis was adopted. The suggest that records management of Archives and Library Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs conforms with the Document Management Guidance for the Government Agencies and ISO 15489: the International Records Management Standard. The filing system, deploy the role of recording management to the employee, discovery and analysis activity to create a classification scheme,
file appraisal, preservation by tool and technology, conduct post-Implementation review and development. Furthermore, the result also shows that employees are an important factor to make the Central Filing System. With the organizational structure working process and information technology systems, the department is able to plan and control the storage of documents appropriately, reduce the work that causes unclear delays.
