Assessment of information technology services and analyze the behavior of using information technology resources of the library for educational quality assurance: A case study of Surasak Srisuk Library, Mahidol University
Abstract
Surasak Srisuk Library, Faculty of Physical Therapy Mahidol University, which is a faculty-level library, have used three criteria for quality assurance assessment: (1) The Asean University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA); (2) the Criteria for accreditation of a degree in the Physical Therapy profession of the Physical Therapy Council.; (3) The Library Standards of Higher Education Institutions B.E. 2544. The objectives of this study were to assess the service of the library according to the educational quality assurance criteria for the certification of educational standards and to study the book-borrowing behavior of the users of the library. This study assessed the library's services according to the quality assurance criteria. The results showed that the faculty and the library’s services and operation met all the criteria according to the quality assurance criteria. Regarding the book-borrowing behavior, this study found that users who were lecturers had the highest number of borrowing times (44%). Moreover, the results showed that the Bachelor of Science program in Occupational Therapy spent the least amount of book-purchasing budget (0.46%). Furthermore, this study found that 85.71% of all books purchased were not listed in TQF 3 reference books. In addition, 6.45% of all books purchased were listed in the curriculum, but not in TQF 3 reference books.
