Analysis of International Publications in Scopus Quartile 1 between 2016-2021 of Walailak University, Thailand

This study aimed to analyze the international publications in Scopus quartile 1 (Q1) between 2016 to 2021 and study international publication promotion guidelines of Walailak University, Thailand. The samples were published in the Scopus database from 2016 to 2021.
Use the method to search and collect data that have been published in the Scopus Q1. The number of publications was determined using data analysis, percentage of article citations, number of articles published by subject area, list of published source titles, list of collaborative affiliations and list of countries with co-publications. The results show that 1,622 articles of Walailak University were published in Scopus between 2016 to 2021. Quartile 1 published 612 articles (37.73 percent). There were 289 articles published at the Q1 in 2021 (49.23 percent). Quartile 1 articles were cited 4,110 times (57.31 percent). Life Sciences has the most articles published with 528 articles.
The highest published journal was the Heliyon with 28 articles. Mahidol University has the most Q1 co-publishing works with Walailak University (89 articles) and Australia is the country with the most Q1 co-publishing with Walailak University (54 articles). In conclusion, the study found that from 2016 to 2021, the number of works published in Walailak University's international journal Scopus database has steadily increased. Most of the publications are published at Q1 and are highly citations. Such data can be used to develop policies to support researchers, insights into research performance tracking, and support the direction of research at Walailak University, Thailand.
