Factors Affecting the Success of Using Library Services in Autonomous Universities of the Southern Provinces

Abstract

The research article was aimed at investigate factors affecting the success of using library services in autonomous universities of the Southern Provinces. The quantitative research method was used with questionnaires being applies as research instruments in collecting the data.The samples in this study included undergraduates and lecturers at Prince of Songkhla Universities, Thaksin University, and Walailak University. These samples could be classified into the following two disciplines: humanities and social sciences as well as science. The sample size in both disciplines was equally determined. All of them were 600. The statistics used for data analysis involved percentage, mean, and standard deviation.

The findings revealed that the factors most affecting the service was the libraries’ management, followed by service areas, information resources, system and information technology, and information professionals. Concerning the factor least affecting the success was found to be library users.
