The Need to Develop Future Skills of People in Sakon Nakhon Province

Abstract

This research is quantitative research. The objective is to study the needs for developing new skills  the future of people in Sakon Nakhon Province. The population and sample used in the research were 100 youth and members of the Community Product Producers Group (OTOP), Sakon Nakhon Province, selected purposively. Research tools is a questionnaire about the need to develop new skills the future using a 5-level rating scale. Statistics used in the research include percentage, mean, and standard deviation.The results of the research were found that 1) The highest need for developing information technology skills is the use of the Internet. Followed by the use of computers and the use of communication tools such as email and messaging, respectively. 2) The highest ranking of need to develop information literacy skills is to search for and access information from various sources. The second most was determining the subject to be searched. Followed by information evaluation. 3) The need to develop media literacy skills is to use media to benefit. Next is the analysis of the credibility of the media and  the objective assessment of media, respectively. 4) The need to develop digital literacy skills is to develop skills in using online applications. Create online marketing channels to sell products the most, followed by using digital media creation programs and digital media safely. 5) The new skills that urgently need development are online sales channels, followed by clip editing and photo editing skills.
