Education and Human Development

Abstract

This article focused on education and human development. The objective the study was to study the concept of human development in Buddhism. Documentary study and related research were used for studying method. Results indicated that human development with Buddhist education was a studying that required holistic human development including physical development, mind, thinking and wisdom, in order to achieve understanding that was accessible and deep into practice. The process of three noble truths training which were precepts, meditation and wisdom has changed and effects to lives. The method of applying were to create empirical knowledge for students (Dharma) continuing to the implementation in actual action (Practice), and developing into a direct experience aimed at the results of a profound practice (enlightenment) in various forms such as learning through physical training (Physical development - Pawitakayo), various body movements with consciousness (Jittapattana-Pawitchitto), learning through various forms of art work, thoughtful thinking, based on past experiences to be a lesson learned (Silapattana-Pawitsilo) until has become a person who developed the wisdom (Phawitapanyo) according to the process of studying humanity in accordance with Buddhism.
