A Survey Study of the Buddhist Place Appeared in Urangkhathatnithan (The Regent of the Phrathatpanom Pagoda)

Abstract

          The Urangkhathatnithan (The Regend of the Phrathatpanom Pagoda) is considered to be the E-San literature that it is very famous and important to the beliefs of the Buddhists on both sides of the Mekong and it is a literature which related to the important Buddhist events in the both sides of the Mekong, such as the construction of Phra That Phanom that made By Phra Mahakasapa Thera and the five of the great kings who was ruled of this area, after 8 years of the Lord Buddha's death

          In addition, it was found that the content of Urangkhathatnithan (The Regend of the Phrathatpanom Pagoda) identifies the important Buddhist places of Buddhism that were located on both sides of the Mekong River such as  Phrathat Panom Phrathat Laung  Phrathat Cherngchum Phrathat Ing Hung etc. And the Buddhist Places were said to be a Buddhist temple that has an influence on the faith, tradition and culture of local Buddhists. Especially the belief about the Naga King, the Beliefs about the temple servants, the Beliefs about the ghosts or gods that maintain relics or beliefs about merit-making that are related to that Buddhist temple as well.
