A Study of the Constructs, Indicators and Guidelines Promoting Funding Allocation to political parties with no members in the House of Representatives to reinforce democracy in Thai Political Party

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to study the conditions and confirm the constructs of the funding allocation for the development of political parties and those with no members in the House of Representatives. The researcher has designed the research in a combination of three continuous exploration phases. In phase 1 “Qualitative Study” The interviews were conducted with four main informant groups, namely the Committee for the Development of Political Parties Chief / Executive Committee Chairman of Party / Party Branch Representatives of each party of the party. Phase 2 “Quantitative method” the questions adopted a five-point Likert scale to gather data for each construct, the sample was from the four groups by stratified random sampling method. The results showed that political parties whose members do not sit in the House of Representatives established the party from private individual funds and from the political party development funds for the political activities. At the same time, their political activities promoting democratization are weak. While the intent of the fund appropriation from the Development Fund to the party relates to four main constructs, namely construct one "Money Supported by the State", construct two "Freedom of Formation of Political Parties", construct four "Operation of the Party" and construct four "Political party structure". The relationship was tested statistically significant.
