The Local Curriculum Development "Intelligent Agriculture Farm Homkhajorn" for children and young farmers at La-Or Utis Demonstration School, Suphanburi Province

Abstract

This research has the following objectives: 1) to develop a local curriculum as a genius farm, Homkhajorn Farm, and to develop future skills for children and young farmers in La-or Utis Demonstration School, Suphanburi Province; and 2) to study the effectiveness of the local curriculum as a genius farm, Homkhajorn Farm, and to develop future skills for children and young farmers in La-or Utis Demonstration School, Suphanburi Province. This study's sample group consisted of preschool children, both male and female, aged 3-5 years old, enrolled in kindergarten, 3rd year, semester 1, the academic year 2022 at La-or Utis Demonstration School, Suphanburi Campus. The population was obtained by simple random sampling using a classroom-level random sampling unit of 1 classroom with a total of 20 students. The research tools consisted of the following: 1) outline of the local curriculum as a Homkhajorn Model; 2) quality assessment form of the local curriculum outline of the Homkhajorn Model 3) appropriate assessment form for local curriculum components, which is the Homkhajorn Model. The instruments used in the experiment are as follows: 1) an achievement test for future skills 2) an assessment of activity performance and an experimental pattern, which is a one-group experimental format. There were both pre-and post-testing. The statistics used in the research were mean, standard deviation, t-test, and content analysis. The results showed that children and young farmers had higher achievements with statistical significance at the .01 level, after experimenting by using local curriculum activities of the smart farm, Homkhajorn Farm.
