This research aims to : 1) Analyze the content of current textbook materials in three parts. 2) Study the effectiveness of the "NEW PRACTICAL CHINESE READER" textbook in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and measure the satisfaction and needs of Chinese language students for service industries and related groups, totaling 23 individuals, using questionnaires to analyze mean and standard deviation values.
The research findings indicate that the sample group of students using the "NEW PRACTICAL CHINESE READER" textbook is highly satisfied overall, divided into 5 aspects as follows: 1) Title aspect (average value x̃ = 4.04): Satisfaction with the titles of each chapter in the textbook, which are interesting. 2) Content aspect (average value x̃ = 3.98): Satisfaction with the content and end-of-chapter exercises that are easy to understand. 3) Vocabulary and phrases aspect (average value x̃ = 3.89): Satisfaction with the practicality of the vocabulary for daily life. 4) Grammar aspect (average value x̃ = 3.84): Satisfaction with the appropriate progression of Chinese language grammar from easy to difficult levels. 5) Communication aspect (average value x̃ = 3.83): Satisfaction with conversational exercises emphasizing communication and interactive dialogues that are free and interesting.
