Correspondence Analysis between the 21st Century Skills and Background of Pre-service Teachers at the Faculty of Education, Prince of Songkla University Pattani Campus

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze correspondence between the 21st century skills and background of pre-service teachers at the Faculty of Education, Prince of Songkla University Pattani Campus. The samples consisted of 209 pre-service teachers from the Faculty of Education, Prince of Songkla University Pattani Campus in the academic year of 2559 B.E. The instrument used was the evaluation form of 21st century skills self-assessment for pre-service teachers. The results show that most of the 21st century skills of the sample were at the highest levels of frequency. The compassion were at the highest, followed by communications,
information, and media literacy skills, and computing and ICT literacy skills, respectively. The crosscultural
understanding skills were the lowest and at the infrequent level. Moreover, from results of correspondence analysis between the background of the samples and practice-level of the 21st century skills, researcher found that core discipline and teaching professional practicum units were closely related to collaboration, teamwork and leadership skills. Also, the cumulative GPA was closely related to the skills of communications, information, and media literacy, computing and ICT literacy.
