Abstract
This research aimed to analyze the efficiency of the 22 commercial banks in Thailand as financial intermediate and business units during 2011 – 2013. Our research team used the data envelopment analysis method to evaluate the technical efficiency scores, input and output slacks and use this information to analyze the efficiency of the commercial banks’ in Thailand. Moreover, our research team attempted to estimate and decompose the Malmquist Index in order to measure the change of productivity of all firms as stated. The results exhibit that on average, the technical efficiency scores are approximately the same for all commercial banks. The causes of an improvement in productivity of most firms came from improved technical efficiency.
