GUIDELINES FOR ORGANIZING LEARNING EXPERIENCES FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD IN THE 21ST CENTURY TO PROMOTE DEMOCRATIC CITIZENSHIP

Abstract

          This article aims to study and present guidelines for organizing learning experiences for early childhood in the 21st century to promote democratic citizenship. The results showed that the experiential arrangement is education for children that does not focus on academics or learning academic content but to promote development in all aspects by allowing children to take action, have direct experience with media, environment, people according to the ability of the child as a basis for learning to the next level in accordance with learning in the 21st century that emphasizes creativity, analytical thinking, clear communication, and cooperation. In additions, the present society needs qualified people according to the principles of democratic citizenship, namely, respect for human dignity, respect for rights, freedoms, and rules and regulations of a society and responsible for oneself, others, and society. If there is no form of learning management to create quality people from childhood, as they grow older, they may be/create problems and obstacles in the development of the country in various fields. On the contrary, if there is an emphasis on the management of education from a young age, it will play a crucial part in the production of physically and mentally complete human resources, as the Buddha's proverb, "Wijjacharanasampanno So Setto Devamanuse-" who is perfect with knowledge and conduct, he is noble among gods and humans
