The Development of an Administrative Model for Japanese Language Education’s for Caregiving of Japanese Elderly

Abstract

The objective of this research are as follows: 1) To explore current practices and approaches in the administration of Japanese language education for caregiving of Japanese elderly, by synthesizing information from relevant documents, research works, and expert interviews. The selection of participants was done through purposive sampling, totaling 20 people. The research tools used for data collection include in-depth semi-structured interviews, content analysis of interview data, and summarization of key points from the interviews.  2) To develop an administrative model for Japanese language education in elderly caregiving, refined through consultation with experts. 3) To assess the feasibility and benefits of the developed administrative model for Japanese language education in elderly caregiving through benefit and feasibility assessment forms administered to 20 experts Data were analyzed using the mean and standard deviation. The research finding are outlined as follow. 1. The findings form the investigation of current practices and approaches in the Administration of Japanese language education for caregiving of Japanese elderly can be categorized in to 6 aspects. 1) Curriculum utilization. 2) Teaching and learning management. 2) Instructors quality. 4) Information technology and communication media. 5) Assessment and evaluation. 6) Cross-cultural education (Thai-Japanese). In summary, the main issues are an unclear curriculum, unskilled teachers, unengaging teaching methods, outdated teaching materials, and a lack of cultural integration. Solutions include revising the curriculum, improving teacher training, providing modern teaching resources, promoting language practice and hands-on activities, and enhancing cross-cultural education. 2. The results of the development of the administration model for Japanese language Education for caregiving of Japanese elderly consist of 3 components. Component 1: Administrative process. Component 2: Learning management process. Component 3: Student quality and success factors. 3. The assessment results of the administrative model for Japanese language education in elderly caregiving. It was indicated the all 3 components and success factors demonstrate high levels of effectiveness and feasibility across all evaluation criteria.
