ADMINISTRATIVE FACTORS AFFECTING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF WORLD-CLASS STANDARD SCHOOLS UNDER THE SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE BURIRAM

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to study 1) the level of administrative factors; 2) the level of the effectiveness of world-class standard schools; 3) the relationship between administrative factors and the effectiveness of world-class standard schools; and 4) to construct a prediction equation for the effectiveness of world-class standard schools. The sample consisted of 240 administrators and teachers under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office, Buriram, selected by stratified random sampling. Research tools were estimation scale questionnaire consisting of two parts namely the administrative factors and the effectiveness of world-class standard schools. The reliability values were 0.982 and 0.977, respectively. The data were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation, pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis. The findings revealed that: 1) The overall level of administrative factors affecting the effectiveness of world-class standard schools was at a high level. Ranked from highest to lowest were information technology, participative management, personnel development, organizational climate and culture, and leadership of school administrators; 2) The overall effectiveness of world-class standard schools was also at a high level. Ranked from highest to lowest were quality management system, teaching and learning management comparable to world-class standards, and students’ potential as global citizens; 3) All administrative factors were significantly correlated with the effectiveness of world-class standard schools at the .01 level; 4) The prediction equation obtained through multiple regression analysis indicated that four variables significantly predicted the effectiveness of world-class standard schools at the .01 level: information technology (X5), organizational climate and culture (X1), participative management (X2), and leadership of school administrators (X3). These factors together explained 68.10% of the variance in effectiveness.
