The Model of Strategic Leadership Development for School Administrators in Phetchabun under the Office of Basic Education Commission

Abstract

This research aimed to develop a strategic leadership development model for school administrators in Phetchabun Province under the Office of the Basic Education Commission. The key informants used to create the model were 5 experts in educational management, who were selected through purposive sampling and in-depth interviews. The model was then developed by 10 educational administration experts using focus group discussions. The sample that provided feedback on the model's appropriateness consisted of 201 school administrators in Phetchabun Province under the Office of the Basic Education Commission, selected through stratified random sampling. The research instruments included a strategic leadership characteristics questionnaire and a focus group discussion record. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The findings revealed that the strategic leadership development model for school administrators in Phetchabun Province under the Office of the Basic Education Commission comprised 6 components: 1) strategy analysis, 2) vision, mission, focus, and organizational direction setting, 3) strategy formulation, 4) strategy implementation, 5) strategy evaluation and control, and 6) self-leadership and organizational leadership. The overall appropriateness of the model was rated at a high level, except for the "vision, mission, focus, and organizational direction setting" component, which was rated at the highest level.
