Teacher Development Model for Learning Management Using Artificial Intelligence in Schools Under the Chaiyaphum Provincial Administrative Organization

This mixed-methods research aimed to 1) examine the components, current conditions, desired conditions, and needs of a teacher development model for instructional management using artificial intelligence (AI) in schools under the Chaiyaphum Provincial Administrative Organization; and 2) design, validate, and evaluate the appropriateness, feasibility, and usefulness of the model. The sample consisted of 238 teachers under the organization in the 2024 academic year, selected through stratified random sampling, and six experts from institutions recognized for their work in technology, innovation, and AI. The research instruments included a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire (reliability = 0.976 for current conditions and 0.949 for desired conditions), semi-structured interview forms, focus group discussion records, and model evaluation forms. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and the Priority Needs Index (PNI). Qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis.
The research results were found as follows
1) The current condition of teacher development in instructional management using AI was at a high level, while the desired condition was at the highest level. The most critical need was foundational knowledge in using AI to develop lesson plans and assessments.
2) The proposed teacher development model consisted of five components (1) principles and concepts, (2) objectives, (3) implementation methods, (4) evaluation guidelines, and (5) success conditions. The evaluation results indicated that the model’s appropriateness, feasibility, and usefulness were at a high level overall.
