จับทิศทางการสื่อสารเรื่องการเรียนรู้สำหรับเด็กศตวรรษที่ 21 ในโลกออนไลน์

Abstract

                   This article explores how to communicate the topic of how students learn in the 21st Century in the context of child development and online media. It examines how rethinking concept of learning in the 21st Century relates to Thai lifestyles, particularly among the middle-class family by using Anthony Gidden’s concept of modern society. The analysis includes the fndings from 3 Facebook content pages, written by well-known psychiatrists. 3 experts serve as opinion leaders in the fieldof child development in Thailand. The analysis shows the way in which Thai experts suggest the rethinking process of learning for children in the changing environment. 
                    The fndings reveal as follows. (1) The experts pay high attention to life skill development for learning such as EF, Self Esteem more than core subjects as highlighted in the past. (2) Facebook shines its role as a bridge of the local-global experiences, widening parents’ eyes to see similar concerns in the wider global context. (3) Communicating how students learn in the 21st Century is one life choice for middle-class parents in capitalism that combines knowledge of intrapersonal, interpersonal and group communication altogether. Facebook allows parents to develop elationship with experts and their network online. Particularly, through the means of intrapersonal communication, content from the 3 pages ask parents to rethink their identities that will fitin the context of child learning in the 21st Century.
                    At the end, this article questions the role of experts as they are legitimated to definewhat is the required knowledge for the 21st Century learning environment. Set of knowledge gained from this article is an alternative to definehow learning skills could be shaped for the children. It is possible that in the future, new realm of knowledge could be constructed to negotiate and resist whatever people of today’s world call it the best practice for child development
