Children and young people are the important target group in communication for community and society development. However, children and the youth as the target group present their own specificcharacteristics, which are different from the other ages. These are: (1) children and the youth are growth and develop by age; (2) children and the youth have little experience of life; (3) children and the youth are the temporary age; and (4) children and the youth have the communication pattern, which is different from adult.
Incidentally, the development communication is required the planned activities and the management for achieving the effectiveness in progress. The main purpose of this article are provided the information for individuals, who work for children and the youth development, can study the concept, process, and communication procedure concerning to activity progress or other projects of children and the youth development. The process of activity is divided to 3 main parts:
1) Planning process/Preparation This process consists of identifying the aims/objectives of activity, identifying the target audience, preparing the activity, selecting the media, and designing the activity.
2) Managing the Activity This process consists of a period of breaking the ice and knowing together, and a period of implementation of the activity.
3) Evaluation The process consists of a pre-production of the activity, a production of the activity, and a post-production of the activity.
The concepts behind the activity for children and the youth development are: (1) a concept of 3H (head, hand, and heart); (2) a concept of “playing is learning” or edutainment; (3) working on the basis of the difference acceptance; (4) a strategy of participatory communication; and (5) a process of comments/criticism.
