Examining people in Nakhonsawan province, upper-central Thailand, this study aims to understand their opinion, their needs for fooding information and their performances in encountering food. Moreover, this study tries to set a tentative communication policy to deal with a flooddisaster in Thailand. Using a quantitative research method, the research project collects data by questionnaires from 400 samples in Nakhonsawan.
The findingsof the respondents' profilesare both male and female, mostly 21-40 years of age, entrepreneurship with an income of 10,001-20,000 baht per month income, and a bachelor's degree of education. Most of the respondents have floodingexperiences once or twice. The expenses of property damages are around 10,000 baht per household. The solution of residential problem is staying-at-home and evacuation.
The respondents mostly use fooding information from an internet, television, and newspaper respectively, being concerned with the weather forecast and officialrelief mitigation efforts and the cause of flood.
The results also reveal that there is too much information from various agencies, but too less floodingdata which the respondents need.
