เด็กกตัญญู เด็กมีปัญหา เหยื่อ และผู้กล้า ในภาพยนตร์เด็ก (กับครอบครัว)
Abstract
Children and family film is a sub-genre of the children film genre. With reference to critical theory, this sub-genre is constructed with a viewpoint of adults rather than children themselves. It thus functions to reproduce a representation of children and families with dominant ideologies.
From my textual analysis of 16 Thai children and family films in 2520-2550 B.E., I found a variety of representations of children, that is, children with gratitude, children as trouble makers, victimed children, and brave children. These representations are fluid in relation to different social contexts. For those films which portray children images in a negative way, family and social institutions are regarded as a key mechanism to resolve children problems. Ideologically, if social actors in these institutions function well to handle such problems, children will become a human resource for the future of Thai society.
