Abstract

Creative practice-led research with autoethnography is used as the method for aiming to entail the understanding the sensitive issue of autism. A researcher uses personal experience to reflect on the documentary film for investigating, analysing and understanding the process of reflection and reflexivity though self-talk. The findings illustrate that the documentary film serves its purpose in providing a space and opportunities for discussing social issues. In particular, encouraging audiences to question, debate and criticize those issues in order to envisage “the hidden truth” to the public as a director’s perspective.
