Book Review: Following the Buddha’s Daily Routine

Abstract

The objectives of the book review “Following the Buddha’s Daily Routine” were 1) to study the historical significance of Buddhism; 2) to study the insertion of Dhamma talks of Phra Phromkunaphorn (P.A. Payutto) performed at the Holy Places of Buddhism while he traveled on a pilgrimage to the Holy Places of Buddhism in India. The contents of the book were divided into 8 sections, namely 1) under the Enlightened Bodhi Tree,  2) on the top of Khao Khitchakut, 3) Dhamma talks on the First Sermon at Saranat,  4) Kusinara, the place of Nibbana, 5) extinction of the body, inexhaustible Dhammakaya,  6) the Heart of Buddhism, 7) lessons from the past, and 8) India, the land of angels and also giving many important Dhamma thoughts to apply in daily life to help those who were interested in religion in order to understand  the teachings of the Lord Buddha performed in various places of the Holy Places of Buddhism in India. It started from Bodhgaya, the place of enlightenment, to various important places in India. It made us know the historical significance of Buddhism in India and the insertion of Phra Phromkunaphorn's Dhamma talks (P.A. Payutto) that can be applied in daily life.
