A New Paradigm in Thailand's Local Management

Abstract
This academic article aims to study a new paradigm in Thailand’s local management. It was found that current local government was a result of the new government management concept and the governance concept. Trends in Thailand’s local management were affected by such idea. It was an initiative to adopt a new management approach without being too attached to the bureaucracy, trying to reduce border restrictions, emphasizing cooperation, partnerships, alliances, and networking relationships with agencies that shared a common mission. In other words, a local government organizations in Thailand tended to change their roles from the former public service providers themselves to becoming a supplier or the purchaser of such services to the people in their own locality.
