Analyzing and Classifying Knowledge Content on Contemporary Folk Songs (Luk Thung) Using Analytico-Synthetic Approach

The objectives of this research study were to analyze and classification the content of contemporary folk songs (Luk thung) with a analytico-synthetic approach by collecting information resources related to contemporary folk songs (Luk thung) from 1) the library network project In Thailand and 2) Central electronic journal database system of Thailand, total all 60 Items and Contemporary folk songs (Luk thung) items published during 2008–2020 with 250 songs. The research method used document analysis and the tool used to collect the data was the recorded content and Facet analysis of contemporary folk songs (Luk thung)
The results showed that analysis and classification of contemporary folk songs (Luk thung) content with a analytico-synthetic approach got 2,198 Terms. The content can be grouped into 18 groups as follows: 1) Religion 2) Love 3) Family 4) Politics & Governance 5) Society 6) Sexuality 7) Nature 8) Economy 9) Labor 10) Education 11) Communication 12) Tradition 13) Ritual 14) Food 15) Clothing 16) Performing Arts & Music 17) Recording events and 18) Place names. The synthesizing linguistic attribute are comprised of 3 characteristics: word, figure of speech, idioms and sub- attribute synthesis. It was found that each special attribute consisted of 13 attributes according to Spiteri's (1998) Facet approach as follows: Things(Entities), Theory & Philosophy, Kinds, Parts, Materials, Properties, Processes, Operations, Products, Agents, Patients, Space, Times.
