The Development of Scientific Process Skill in Experimentation Through Inquiry-Based Learning (7E) Combined with Thinking-Based Learning Management for Grade 8 Students
Main Article Content
Abstract
The purposes of this research were: 1) to examine the development of students’ scientific process skills in experimentation during the implementation of inquiry-based learning (7E) combined with thinking-based learning among Grade 8 students, and 2) to investigate the satisfaction of Grade 8 students with inquiry-based learning (7E) combined with thinking-based learning. This research is a basic experimental study. The sample consisted of 30 Grade 8 students in the second semester of the academic year 2025 at Thamakawittayakom School, selected by cluster sampling. The research instruments included: 1) five lesson plans based on inquiry-based learning (7E) combined with thinking-based learning on the topic of separation of substances and its applications, 2) an assessment form for scientific process skills in experimentation with a reliability coefficient of .85, and 3) students’ satisfaction assessment form regarding inquiry-based learning (7E) combined with thinking-based learning. The statistical methods used for data analysis included the mean (M), standard deviation (S.D.), and one-way repeated measures ANOVA. The research findings revealed that: 1) The development of experimental science process skills among Grade 8 students during the inquiry-based learning (7E) approach combined with thinking-based learning was significantly increased at .05 level. 2) The satisfaction of Grade 8 students toward the inquiry-based learning (7E) combined with thinking-based learning was at a high level.
