Developing English Reading Comprehension by Using Collaborative Strategic Reading Through Fairy Tales for Sixth Grade Students

Abstract
This Article aimed to compare English reading comprehension before and after learning of students taught using collaborative strategic reading through fairy tales. The sample of this research were 14 sixth grade students at Prachaburanawittaya School, Muang District, Prachuapkhirikhan province in the second semester of the academic year 2022. The sample was obtained by using a simple sampling method of lottery with the school units. The duration of the research implementation totaled 12 hours. The research design was the one group pre-test – posttest.The instrument for collecting data was 1) lesson plans for using collaborative reading strategy 2) Pre-test and Post-test. The data were statistically analyzed by statistical means, standard deviation and t-test dependent. The results of this research revealed that students' abilities pretest and posttest outcome in English reading comprehension by using collaborative strategic reading the mean score on posttest was higher than pretest with statistically significant at .05 level.
