LEGAL MEASURES FOR THE PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN COMMUNITY GARBAGE MANAGEMENT

Abstract

          The objective of this research is to find legal measures for public participation in community garbage management. To achieve public participation which will benefit the environment in people's lives for a better quality of life. The research methology is Qualitative research including Documentary research; In-depth interview and Participatory design, Co-design and Hearing.

          The research found that:

          garbage from the community that occurs today is all due to various activities of humans, both from daily use and various operations.But the methods of management currently used are aimed at garbage disposal without separating garbage before disposing cause amount of garbage every day that must be disposed . Since garbage management currently focuses on garbage disposal which is a solution to the root cause. It is not possible to manage the community garbage sustainably.

          The research suggests legal measures by allowing people to participate in garbage management by separating garbage from households or various establishments before disposing, which will reduce waste and able to recycle some of the separated garbage for reuse or recycle.
