Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Articles Submitted for Publication in the Journal of Buddhist Education and Research

Articles submitted for publication in the Journal of Buddhist Education and Research must contain academic content in the fields of Buddhism, Philosophy, Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, or interdisciplinary studies related to Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as other interdisciplinary fields. Submitted articles must not have been previously published or be under consideration by other journals. Authors must strictly adhere to the journal's guidelines for submitting academic or research articles and ensure that references comply with the journal's citation and formatting standards.

Authors are required to report accurate information and are strictly prohibited from fabricating, falsifying, distorting, or selectively presenting data to align with their conclusions. Any opinions expressed in articles published in the Journal of Buddhist Education and Research are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not reflect the views or responsibility of the editorial board. Authors must also uphold research ethics, avoiding plagiarism or misrepresentation of others' work as their own. The journal has established a plagiarism threshold of no more than 25%, effective from June 2019.

A publication fee of 3,500 THB (three thousand baht) per article is required. Authors must register and pay this fee through the journal's system. This fee is non-refundable once the manuscript has been sent to peer reviewers. If the editorial board rejects the manuscript before the review process, the fee will be refunded.

Preparation of Manuscripts (Download Sample Template)

  1. Manuscripts should be 8–15 A4 pages in length (excluding references), printed single-sided, using TH Sarabun PSK font. Page margins should be set to 1 inch on all sides, with single line spacing and spacing between paragraphs. Images and tables must be clear, properly numbered (e.g., Table 1 or Figure 1), and accompanied by concise explanations. Images should contain sufficient detail to be understood without reference to the text.

  2. Titles in both Thai and English should be centered on the first page.

  3. Author names, affiliations, and email addresses should be aligned to the right in both Thai and English.

  4. Abstracts in both Thai and English should not exceed 300 words each.

  5. Provide 3–5 keywords in both Thai and English.

  6. Main headings should be aligned to the left margin, with subheadings indented by 3–5 characters. Subheadings of the same level should be aligned consistently. A one-line space should be left before new main headings.

  7. Use Arabic numerals and standard abbreviations. Parentheses for English terms should follow this format: (Student-centered learning).


Structure of Research Articles

  1. Abstract: Concisely present research objectives, methodology, and key findings.
  2. Introduction: Explain the background and significance of the problem and state the research objectives.
  3. Research Methodology: Include research design, sampling methods, instruments, data collection, and data analysis.
  4. Results: Present findings clearly, preferably using tables or charts.
  5. Discussion: Narratively link findings to conceptual frameworks and past research. Avoid using bullet points.
  6. Originality and Body of Knowledge (if applicable): Highlight new knowledge or synthesis, presented as a model with concise explanations.
  7. Conclusion and Recommendations: Provide a summary and suggest applications or directions for future research.
  8. References: Include only sources cited in the article.

Reference and Citation Guidelines

Citations and references must adhere to the APA citation style (author-date). All sources cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list, and authors are responsible for their accuracy.

Submission Format

Manuscripts must be submitted as Microsoft Word (.docx) files (version 2010 or later) and PDF files. The editorial board will conduct an initial review of the manuscript's format. Non-compliant manuscripts will be returned for revision. Approved manuscripts will proceed to peer review. Authors will be notified of the review outcome, including any necessary revisions.
