A Study of Condition and Problems of the Teachers’ Media Usage in Cultivating Moral Virtues of High School Students under the Jurisdiction of the Office of the Secondary Education Service Area 13

Abstract

This survey research aims to study the level of condition and problems of the teachers’ media usage in cultivating moral virtues of high school students under the jurisdiction of the office of the Secondary Education Service Area 13. The sample consisted of 327 teachers, obtained by stratified random sampling and quantified by Krejcie and Morgan’s open-grid method from the population of 2,015 high school teachers under the jurisdiction of the office of the Secondary Education Service Area 13. The tool used for data collection was a 5-level rating scale questionnaire. The data were analyzed using arithmetic mean, standard deviation and compare the results with criteria to interpret the results. The results are summarized as follows:


1. The condition of teachers’ media usage in cultivating moral virtues of high school
students under the jurisdiction of the office of the Secondary Education Service Area 13 was at a high level in overall and as each part. By the virtue of moral ethics, the average was 4.02, followed by media preparation for teaching and management support which were 3.87 and 3.77, respectively.


2. The problems of teachers’ media usage in cultivating moral virtues of high school
students under the jurisdiction of the office of the Secondary Education Service Area 13, the average appeared at a low level in overall and as individuals. And morality promotion showed the lowest average at 1.91.
