Project-based Learning Management to Enhance the 8th Grade Students’ Working Skills in Occupation on Thai Desserts Topic

Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to compare the working skills of eighth-grade students before and after project-based learning management; 2) to compare the learning achievements of eighth-grade students before and after project-based learning management in Occupation on Thai Desserts Topic. The sample used in this research consisted of eighth-grade students in the second semester of the academic year 2022 at a school under the jurisdiction of a local administrative organization in the province of Krabi, comprising one classroom with a total of 30 students. The research instruments consisted of 1) six lesson plans based on project-based learning management in the Occupation on Thai Desserts Topic; 2) an achievement test based in the Occupation on Thai Desserts Topic for 20 questions; and 3) an assessment form of working skills for 15 questions. The findings revealed that 1) The scores for assessing the students' working skills after project-based learning management are based on teacher evaluation, peer evaluation within their group, and peer evaluation from other groups in the classroom. It was considerably greater than before learning at the.05 level. The efficacy index was derived from the teacher's evaluation. The peer assessment scores for the self-group and different groups in the classroom were 0.72, 0.70, and 0.72, representing 72%, 70%, and 72%, respectively; 2) The students' learning achievement scores increased significantly after using project-based learning management, with an efficacy index of 0.46 or 46%, which was statistically significant at the .05 level.
