Knowledge Management Model Using Social Network to Enhance Potential of Educational Innovation for Teachers in Health and Physical Education Learning Area Under the Trang-Krabi Secondary Educational Service Area Office

Abstract

The purposes of this study were 1) to study the knowledge management process, 2) to develop a knowledge management model, and 3) to investigate the results of using this model. The study mixed methodologies of qualitative and quantitative research. Key informants in the qualitative research were 10 experts in knowledge management, social network, and educational innovation. As for quantitative research, the sample consisted of 30 teachers in Health and Physical Education Learning Area under the Trang Krabi Secondary Educational Service Area Office. The qualitative data were analyzed using descriptive and inductive analyses. The quantitative data were analyzed by assessing the statistics mean and standard deviation. Results showed that 1) the knowledge management process consisted of (1) analysis of social network use, (2) definition of components of knowledge management, (3) investigation of the problems, (4) development planning, (5) definition of development steps, and (6) development guideline for model. 2) The knowledge management model consisted of (1) knowledge management process using social network, (2) knowledge management through social network, and (3) factors enhancing educational innovation potential. 3) The results from using this model, according to pretest and posttest self-assessment results, revealed that the potential for educational innovation of teachers in Health and Physical Education Learning Area improved in all aspects. As for their opinions regarding the model, they were satisfied at the highest level in all aspects.
