The Effect of Practice-based Learning on the Development of Scientific Instruments Use Skills among Undergraduate Students in Food Science and Nutrition Program
Main Article Content
Abstract
This classroom action research aims to study the effect of practice-based learning on scientific instrument use skills of students. The target group of this research was students in the microbial for food products subject in semester 2 of 2018 (22 students), 2019 (10 students) and 2020 (10 students) at Faculty of Science and Technology, Prince of Songkla University, Pattani campus. The research instruments consisted of practice plans for developing the skill in using instrument within 2 months and the self-report questionnaire. The study found that self-evaluation of pre-study of subject related to the knowledge of basis microbiology, and after study, the students found that they have increased in instrument use at the moderate to the high level. This finding contributes to the teaching learning management in the following 2 months of semester such as the outside visiting activities at microbiology clinic unit, learning via the others education technology, individual test of using the instruments and understanding in content of students.
